Of course, you have to have seen the Bremen Town Musicians in Bremen. Do not be alarmed or disappointed by them, because in reality, the grim fairy-tale characters look a bit smaller than on television or in pictures.
You can get the most exciting coffee you can drink at Bremer Roland. Why? From here you can watch all the hustle and bustle on the Town Hall Square and still have an ideal view of St. Peter’s Cathedral and, of course, the beautiful Town Hall. The Bremen Roland, placed in front of the Town Hall, is incidentally an international symbol for freedom and market law.
At the water promenade, Schlachte you can walk past numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. Maybe you can also look into one of them. Getting bored there is not a possibility, it is rare on the promenade, especially in fair weather, as the most diverse events are offered.
My highlight and favorite district in Bremen is the “Schnoorviertel”. The small colorful and lined up houses from the 15th and 16th century have just taken my heart for an eternity. Here you can not only get some great Instagram pictures but also go for shopping and eating out.

Of course, that’s not all that Bremen has to offer, in addition to the historic buildings, a charming old town, lively parks and wonderful views of the Weser, I have also visited the newly modernized H + Hotel. You cannot, not want to live in the middle of it all.

If you have not yet met the Bremen Town Musicians, you will be able to see them in your room at the latest. And even better is that you do not need a car for a city trip to Bremen if you stay at the H + Hotel Bremen. If you are reluctant to walk, you can rent a bike at the hotel. For a refreshing start to the day is also provided through an extensive breakfast buffet.

Was fällt wahrscheinlich fast jedem ein, wenn er an Bremen denkt?

Esel, Hund, Katze, Hahn – Na, schon eine Idee? Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten sind den meisten als Wahrzeichen von Bremen bekannt! Doch die Bremer Stadtmusikanten sind nicht das einzige Highlight in Bremen! Eins kann ich euch sagen, dass Bremen moderner ist als viele deutsche Städte, die ihr bereits kennt!

Die moderne Hansestadt Bremen an der Weser hat mich schon auf meinem Weg vom Hauptbahnhof zum H+ Hotel mit einer imposanten Windmühle beeindruckt! Innerhalb von 10 Minuten habe ich auf meinem Weg schon den St. Petri Dom und den bronzefarbenen Esel, Hund, Katze und Hahn gesehen. Eine typisch altdeutsche Stadt habe ich in Bremen nicht vorgefunden, sondern eher eine dynamische und hippe Großstadt, die auf kleinem Raum viel zu bieten hat!

Best Sights:

Natürlich muss man in Bremen die Bremer Stadtmusikanten gesehen haben! Nicht erschrecken, denn in natura wirken die grimmischen Märchenfiguren etwas kleiner als im Fernsehen oder auf Bildern.
Den spannendsten Kaffee trinkt man am Bremer Roland. Warum? Von hier könnt ihr den ganzen Trubel am Rathausplatz beobachten und habt dabei noch einen idealen Blick auf den Petri Dom und natürlich das wunderschöne Rathaus. Der Bremer Roland, platziert vor dem Rathaus, ist übrigens ein internationales Symbol für Freiheit und Marktrecht.
An der Wasserpromenade Schlachte könnt ihr an zahlreichen Cafés, Restaurants und Bars vorbeispazieren. Vielleicht schaut ihr auch mal in eins hinein? Langweilig wird es an der Promenade selten, da gerade bei schönem Wetter die unterschiedlichsten Veranstaltungen angeboten werden.
Mein Highlight und Lieblingsviertel in Bremen ist das „Schnoorviertel“. Die kleinen bunten und aneinandergereihten Häuser aus dem 15. Und 16. Jahrhundert haben es mir einfach angetan! Hier kann man nicht nur tolle Instagram Bilder machen, sondern auch shoppen und essen gehen.

Natürlich ist das noch nicht alles, was Bremen zu bieten hat! Neben den historischen Bauwerken, einer bezaubernden Altstadt, lebhaften Parks und wunderbaren Aussichten an der Weser, habe ich auch das frisch modernisierte H+ Hotel besucht! Mehr mittendrin kann man gar nicht wohnen! Wer bisher noch nicht den Bremer Stadtmusikanten begegnen ist, wird sie spätestens im Zimmer sehen können! Und noch viel besser ist, dass man für einen Städtetrip nach Bremen kein Auto braucht, wenn man im H+ Hotel Bremen übernachtet! Wer ungern zu Fuß unterwegs ist, kann sich im Hotel ein Fahrrad mieten. Für einen erfolgreichen Start in den Tag ist auch mit einem ausgiebigen Frühstücksbuffet gesorgt!

8:00 am – Wake up!

Put on comfortable and naturally chic shoes, because, for sure, you will have an exciting day ahead of you. But besides that, the most important thing is none other than – breakfast. In the stylish Wilder Townhouse Hotel, you can not only live in the central area like a local but also enjoy a fresh breakfast buffet with many delicious dishes from the menu.

Alternatively, from Sophie’s, the restaurant at The Dean Hotel, have a look at the whole city during breakfast. Both hotels were the ideal starting points for our day.

9:30 am – Gravity Bar Dublin

Even if you were at Sophie’s for breakfast, the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse tops the view across Dublin. Although make sure to be there early. Why? Because at 9:30 am, the Guinness Storehouse is just starting up, and you can be the first one to enjoy a fresh Guinness with an insane view. If you don’t have a beer before 4, then you certainly aren’t living up to the spirit of Dublin.

If you really want to live the best stay in Dublin, then there is no way around a Guinness extra stout beer. The Guinness Storehouse tickets should be secured online before your visit. You save about 20% and can bypass queues too.

10:00 am – Guinness Brewery tour

When there, you will notice that Panorama Bar is already full around 10 o’clock. So, go ahead and grab a thrilling tour with a guide. The Guinness Storehouse Tour is not a classic tour. Interactively you will get to know the story of the Guinness beer. My absolute highlight was my Stoutie.

12:30 pm – Lunch

Since I recommend you to visit the North Side and the Spire in Dublin, you should definitely eat in “The Church”. As the name indicates, it is a church but with a restaurant in it along with a gigantic bar. It is really good.

2:00 pm – Dublin Spire

Let’s go from Dublin’s landmark to the Ha’penny Bridge. On the way, you can either go through the alleys with individual shops or even on the famous O’Connell Street.

2:30 pm – Ha’Penny Bridge

Anyone who has ever read a novel by the Irish writer Cecilia Ahern has in any case already met the Ha ‘Penny Bridge. She is, of course, also known for her numerous love locks.

2:45 pm – Temple Bar

On the way from Ha’Penny Bridge to the Trinity College, you will pass through the famous Temple Bar district. At noon it is not as crowded as in the evening.

3:15 pm – Trinity College

The most famous Irish university is just outside the main shopping street. It is definitely worth a visit. The entrance to the library costs about 14 €.

4:00 pm – Grafton Street

Even Ed Sheeran has sung on the city’s shopping street. In addition to the shops and many side streets with restaurants and other individual shops, you will always find a musician whose music will accompany your shopping trip.

5:30 pm – Saint Stephen’s Green

At the end of Grafton Street, you come across the city park “Stephen’s Green” and here you can breathe again before you crash into the nightlife.

6:00 pm – Dinner and Drinks

At the numerous restaurants in Dublin, I had to think about which one I would like to recommend to you because everyone is special in their own way. For example, you can get fish and chips in the quaint pub “Gingerman”. Sophie’s not only offers breakfast, but also dinner.

In Monkstown, just about 20 minutes’ drive from the city centre, you will find many great restaurants such as “That’s Amore”. But you almost always need a reservation.

If you want to move on, get a recommendation from your waiter nearby. You always know the best spots that way.

2nd Day Itinerary

1. 9:00 am – Wake up!

2. 10:00 am – Off to Howth

3. 10:40 am – Cliff Walk

4. 1:00 pm – Lunch at the pier

5. 3:30 pm – Home sweet home

After the long day yesterday, you have earned an hour more sleep. Enjoy your breakfast and make your way to Howth, with some sturdy shoes.

10:00 am – Off to Howth

There is a bus that goes directly from downtown to Howth within 35 minutes, or you can take the train, which is a bit faster. With the bus, you can drive directly to the last stop to the “top” of the mountain and can quickly move toward the lighthouse. The train ride ends at the pier, and you could make the cliff walk to the lighthouse and back by bus.

10:40 am – Cliff Walk

We drove to the terminus by bus and then hiked to the lighthouse and back to the pier. The breathtaking cliffs let the hike fly by.

1:00 pm – Lunch at the Pier

If you like seafood, this is the place for you. In a hall, you can even examine the fresh catches. I celebrated my 19th birthday in the restaurant “Beshoffs The Market” and really enjoyed the fish plate.

3:30 pm – Home Sweet Home

Do not be too late on the way to the airport, as you can be surprised on a Sunday afternoon with traffic. The fastest way to get to the airport is by AirCoach or by taxi.

Dublin hat so viel zu bieten, dass es fast unmöglich ist alle Sehenswürdigkeiten innerhalb von 2 Tagen zu sehen! Wenn man natürlich einen Touri Marathon einlegen möchte, geht alles 😉 . Nach meinem drei jährigem Studium in Dublin habe ich es bis heute noch nicht geschafft einen Guide für euch zu schreiben! Dabei werde ich so oft gefragt, was man in Dublin machen kann! Umso mehr habe ich mich gefreut, als ich vor 2 Wochen mit dem Guinness Storehouse die Stadt nochmal erkunden durfte!

So habe ich 2 Tage in Dublin verbracht:

Zieht euch bequeme und natürlich schicke Schuhe an, denn es wird ein aufregender Tag! Aber das Wichtigste zuerst – Frühstück! Im stylischen Wilder Townhouse Hotel könnt ihr nicht nur in einem zentralen Viertel wie ein „Local“ wohnen, sondern auch ein frisches Frühstücksbuffet mit vielen schmackhaften Gerichten von der Karte genießen!

Alternativ habt ihr von Sophie’s, dem Restaurant im The Dean Hotel, während des Frühstücks einen Blick auf die ganze Stadt!

Auch wenn ihr zum Frühstück im Sophie’s wart, toppt die Gravity Bar im Guinness Storehouse den Blick über ganz Dublin! Warum ihr schon so früh da sein solltet? Um 9:30 Uhr macht das Guinness Storehouse gerade erst auf und ihr könnt die ersten sein, die ein frisches Guinness mit einem wahnsinnigen Blick genießen! Kein Bier vor 4? Nicht in Dublin! Wenn ihr richtig in Dublin ankommen wollt, geht kein Weg an einem Guinness Bier mit extra Stout vorbei!

Die Guinness Storehouse Tickets solltet ihr euch online schon vor eurem Besuch sichern! Ihr spart ca. 20% und könnt Warteschlangen umgehen!

10:00 am – Guinness Brewery tour

Ihr werdet merken, dass es gegen 10 Uhr schon voller in der Panoramabar wird. Also nichts wie los und sichert euch eine spannende Tour mit einem Guide. Die Guinness Storehouse Tour ist absolut keine klassische Führung! Interaktiv lernt ihr die Geschichte von dem Guinness Bier kennen! Mein absolutes Highlight war mein Stoutie!

12:30 pm – Lunch

Da ich euch empfehle auch die Nordseite und den Spire in Dublin zu besichtigen, solltet ihr unbedingt in „The Church“ essen gehen. Hier ist der Name auch Programm! Ein Restaurant in einer alten Kirche mit einer gigantischen Bar! Wirklich klasse!

2:00 pm – Dublin Spire

Los geht es von Dublin’s Wahrzeichen zu der Ha‘ Penny Bridge. Unterwegs könnt ihr entweder durch die einzelnen Gassen mit individuellen Geschäften gehen oder aber auch über die berühmte O’Connell Street.

2:30 pm – Ha‘ Penny Bridge

Wer schon mal einen Roman von der irischen Schriftstellerin Cecilia Ahern gelesen hat, ist auf jeden Fall der Ha‘ Penny Bridge schon begegnet! Sie ist natürlich auch für ihre zahlreichen Liebesschlösser bekannt!

2:45 pm – Temple Bar

Auf dem Weg von der Ha‘ Penny Bridge zum Trinity College kommt ihr durch das bekannte Temple Bar Viertel! Mittags ist es auch nicht so sehr überlaufen wie am Abend!

3:15 pm – Trinity College

Die bekannteste irische Universität liegt direkt vor der Haupteinkaufsstraße. Sie ist auf jeden Fall einen Abstecher wert! Der Eintritt zur Bücherei kostet ca. 14€.

4:00 pm – Grafton Street

Auf der Einkaufsstraße in der Stadt hat sogar schon Ed Sheeran gesungen! Neben den Geschäften und vielen Seitenstraßen mit Restaurants und weiteren individuellen Geschäften findet ihr immer einen Musiker, der euren Einkausbummel musikalisch untermalt!

5:30 pm – Saint Stepehen’s Green

Am Ende der Grafton Street stoßt ihr auf den Stadtpark „Stepehen’s Green“ und könnt nochmal tief durchatmen bevor ihr euch ins Nachtleben stürtzt!

6:00 pm – Dinner and Drinks

Bei den zahlreichen Restaurants in Dublin musste auch ich gerade überlegen, welches ich euch empfehlen möchte, da alle auf ihre eigene Art besonders sind!

Fish & Chips bekommt ihr zum Beispiel im urigen Pub „Gingerman“.

Sophie’s bietet nicht nur ein Frühstück an, sondern auch ein Abendessen.

In Monkstwon (ca. 20 Minuten Fahrt) von der Innenstadt findet ihr zahlreiche tolle Restaurants wie zum Beispiel das Restaurant „That’s Amore“. Ihr braucht aber fast immer eine Reservierung.

Wenn ihr danach noch weiter ziehen wollt, lasst euch eine Empfehlung von eurem Kellner geben, die in der Nähe ist! Sie kennen immer die besten Spots!

2nd Day Itinerary

1. 9:00 am – Wake up!

2. 10:00 am – Off to Howth

Nach dem langen Tag habt ihr eine Stunde mehr Schlaf verdient! Genießt euer Frühstück und macht euch auf den Weg nach Howth (mit festem Schuhwerk).

10:00 am – Off to Howth

Es gibt einen Bus, der innerhalb von 35 Minuten direkt aus der Innenstadt nach Howth fährt oder ihr nehmt die Bahn, die etwas schneller ist. Mit dem Bus könnt ihr direkt bis zu Endstation an die „Spitze“ vom Berg fahren und seid schneller am Leuchtturm. Die Bahnfahrt endet am Pier und ihr könntet die Klippenwanderung bis zum Leuchtturm machen und mit dem Bus wieder zurück.

10:40 am – Cliff Walk

Wir sind bis zur Endstation mit dem Bus gefahren und dann zum Leuchtturm und zurück zum Pier gewandert! Die atemberaubenden Klippen lässt die Wanderung wie im Flug vergehen!

1:00 pm – Lunch at the pier

Wer Meeresfrüchte mag, ist hier genau richtig! In einer Halle könnt ihr sogar die frischen Fänge begutachten! Meinen 19. Geburtstag habe ich im Restaurant „Beshoffs The Market“ gefeiert und die Fischplatte richtig genossen!

3:30 pm – Home sweet home

Macht euch nicht zu spät auf den Weg zum Flughafen, da man auch an einem Sonntag gegen Nachmittag mit Verkehr überrascht werden kann! Zum Flughafen kommt ihr am schnellsten mit den AirCoach oder einem Taxi.

Meine Geheimtipps für Sommerhausen

Heute habe ich für euch einen besonderen Reise-Tipp: Sommerhausen! Ich zeige euch, was ihr alles in nur 24 Stunden machen könnt!

Today, I have a special travel tip for you: Sommerhausen in Germany! I’ll show you what you can do in just 24 hours!

Wir starteten mit dem Auto in Köln und waren nur 2 Stunden und 40 Minuten später auch schon im wunderschönen Franken angekommen. Auf dem Weg hierher kamen wir am Outlet in Wertheim, das Wertheim Village, vorbei. Wer ein wenig Lust auf Shopping hat, kann hier einen Stopp einlegen und ein wenig für sich oder seine Lieben einkaufen gehen.

We started by car in Cologne. Only 2 hours and 40 minutes later did we arrive in the beautiful Franken. On the way, we came across the Outlet in Wertheim, which is also known as the Wertheim Village. If you have a little bit of time for shopping, you can stop here and go shopping for yourself or your loved ones.

Als wir dann endlich in Sommerhausen ankamen, konnten wir unser Auto direkt auf der Hauptstraße parken, da man alles gut und schnell zu Fuß erreichen kann.

When we finally arrived in Sommerhausen, we were able to park our car directly on the main road as you can reach everything well and quickly on foot.

Nach einer angenehmen ca. 30 Minuten langen Wanderung erreichten wir den Tierpark. Auf dem Weg zum Tierkpark machten wir Halt an der Aussichtplattform, die auch als „Schnecke“ bekannt ist. Der Eintritt für den Tierpark liegt bei 4 € pro Erwachsenen. Nicht nur Kinder haben hier ihre wahre Freude! Erst vor kurzem wurde dort ein neues Kaninchenhaus errichtet, weswegen wir viele kleine Häschen und Meerschweinchen bestaunen konnten. Außerdem gibt es noch sämtliche Tiere, wie z. B. Esel, Pferde, Kühe, diverse Schweine, Frettchen, Ziegen, Bienen und diverse Vögel. Für 1,50 € kann man Futter kaufen und die Tiere damit füttern, was viel Spaß mit sich bringt. Ein Wasserspielplatz ist für die heißen Tage ebenfalls vorhanden und es ist sogar möglich, auf Ponys zu reiten.

On the way to the animal park, we stopped at the viewing platform, which is also known as “snail”. After a pleasant 30-minute hike, we reached the animal park. Admission to the animal park is € 4 per adult. Not only children have their true joy here! It was only recently that a new rabbit house was built, so we could admire many small bunnies and guinea pigs. In addition, there are horses, cows, various pigs, ferrets, goats, bees and various birds. For 1.50 €, you can buy food and feed the animals, which is a lot of fun. A water playground is also available for the hot days and it is even possible to ride on ponies.

Sehenswert ist wie bereits erwähnt die Aussichtplattform, von der man einen super Ausblick über den Main und Sommerhausen hat. Oberhalb der Weinberge befindet sich auch ein Skulpturenpark, mehrere Künstler haben Skulpturen aus verschiedenen Materialien gefertigt, die die „Arbeit im Weinberg“ eindrucksvoll darstellt. Der Ausblick ist wirklich gigantisch und empfehlenswert!

As already mentioned, the viewing platform is one of the best places to visit with a great view over the Main and Sommerhausen. Above the vineyard is also a sculpture park, which have several sculptures made by different artists using different materials. It is called the “work in the vineyard”. The view is really gigantic and recommendable!

Auf dem Rückweg ins Dorf haben wir einen Stopp im Cafehaus Schatztruhe eingelegt. Hier gibt es neben einer wechselnden Tageskarte auch hausgemachte Kuchen und Torten. Wir haben uns in den Außenbereich gesetzt und einen super leckeren Bienenstich genossen. Dabei entdeckten wir, dass sich gleich nebenan ein Antiquariat befindet. Wir haben die Chance genutzt und sind ein wenig bummeln gegangen. Ich würde auch ziemlich schnell fündig und habe mit zwei coolen und aktuellen Romanen in der Tasche das Haus wieder verlassen. Für die beiden Bücher habe ich zusammen nur 2 € bezahlt – ein Paradies für Schnäppchenjäger!

On the way back to the village, we stopped at the café “Schatztruhe“. In addition to a changing menu, there are homemade cakes and tarts. We have put ourselves in the outdoor area and enjoyed a super delicious bee sting. At the same time, we discovered that there is an antique shop next door. We took the opportunity and went a little stroll. I also found two novels. For the two books, I paid a total of only 2 € – a paradise for bargain hunters!

Als nächstes liefen wir zum Schloss Sommerhausen (nur 2 Gehminuten entfernt), wo man lecker Essen gehen kann. Zunächst aber haben wir an einer Weinprobe teilgenommen. Es war sehr spannend, mehr über die fränkischen Weine zu erfahren und diese natürlich auch zu probieren. Wir haben super köstlichen Wein für zu Hause gekauft. Die Bedienung war wirklich sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Ich habe einen leckeren Flammkuchen gegessen, den ich jedem nur empfehlen kann! Die Location ist wirklich hübsch und man kann sich toll draußen hinsetzen und die Natur bewundern. Fabelhaft!

Next, we went to Schloss Sommerhausen (only 2 minutes away), where you can eat delicious food. But first, we took part in a wine tasting. It was very exciting to learn more about the Franconian wines and, of course, to try them. We bought super delicious wine for home. The service was really very friendly and always helpful. I have eaten a delicious tarte flambée, which I recommend to everyone! The location is really nice and you can sit outside and admire the nature. Fabulous!

Aufgrund des Weinfestes waren sämtliche Unterkünfte ausgebucht, daher haben wir uns dafür entschieden, im Dortmunder Hof in Würzburg zu übernachten. Wir sind am Abend mit dem Auto von Sommerhausen nach Würzburg zurück gefahren. Man benötigt ca. 15 Minuten für diese Strecke.

Due to the wine festival, all the accommodations were booked, so we decided to stay at the Dortmunder Hof in Würzburg. We went back in the evening by car from Sommerhausen to Würzburg; this route took about 15 minutes.

Having arrived at our destination, we found a lovely and rustic hotel, which is family run. It is in a central location and you can walk everywhere from here. We were greeted incredibly by friendly gestures and the staffs were always helpful. We could not have had a better hotel for the weekend! One of the highlights of the hotel is the in the hotel Vinothek Tiepolo, which is even on place 4 of numerous restaurants in Würzburg, according to Tripadvisor. Above all, the great food and the hospitality are highly rated.

One of my daily routines is checking flight fares. While I was checking the flight fares, I recognized that Ryanair flies to Bergamo for just 25€ over the weekend so that I can book our outward flight on Friday night and return flight on Monday morning.

Einer meiner täglichen Routinen ist die Überprüfung der Flugpreise. Während ich die Flugpreise überprüfe, erkenne ich, dass Ryanair nach Bergamo für nur 25 € über das Wochenende fliegt. So buche ich unseren Hinflug am Freitagabend und den Rückflug am Montagmorgen.

Nachdem ich unsere Buchungsbestätigung erhalten habe, mache ich Pläne für das Wochenende. Wie ihr wahrscheinlich wisst, war ich schon in Bergamo. Also meine Optionen für das Wochenende sind entweder Mailand oder zu einem See, der in der Nähe des Flughafens liegt.

After I received our booking confirmation, I made plans for the weekend. As you probably know, I have already been to Bergamo. So my options for the weekend are either Milano or to a lake, which is close to the airport.

When I see the pictures of lake Como, I am sure that this will be our next destination. It is only an hour drive away from the airport and the Fiat 500 I rent by AVIS costs only 48€ for three days. I still have to decide which city around the lake I want to go to now. This is not an easy decision as cities such as Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo, and Varenna around the midsection of the lake are all very pretty.

Wenn ich die Bilder vom Comer See sehe, bin ich sicher, dass dies unser nächstes Ziel sein wird. Es ist nur eine Autostunde entfernt vom Flughafen und die Miete für einen Fiat 500 von AVIS kostet nur 48 € für drei Tage. Jetzt muss ich noch entscheiden, in welche Stadt um den See ich gehen will. Das ist keine leichte Entscheidung, denn die Städte wie Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo und Varenna um den Mittelteil des Sees sind alle sehr hübsch.

However, it took me just a few minutes to find a stunning hotel II Perlo Panorama. I could not find any other hotel with this kind of view over the whole lake and with such an adorable garden.

Allerdings dauert es nur ein paar Minuten und ich finde das atemberaubende Hotel II Perlo Panorama. Ich konnte kein anderes Hotel mit dieser Art von Aussicht über den ganzen See und mit einem so schönen Garten finden.

When we arrived at the hotel, Carlo, the hotel director gave us a warm welcome. But not only the customer service at Carlo is an absolute standout, the spacious rooms are also very clean and so comfy for a stay at Lake Como

Als wir dann im Hotel ankommen, gibt Carlo, der Hoteldirektor, uns einen herzlichen Empfang. Aber nicht nur der Service von Carlo und seinem Team ist ein absolutes Ausmaß, die geräumigen Zimmer sind sehr sauber und so gemütlich für einen Aufenthalt am Comer See.

Our first day had such an unbelievable start! I guess that I don’t need to say more than “delightful breakfast with a view above the pearl of Lake Como”.

Unser erster Tag hat einen so unglaublichen Start! Ich glaube, dass ich nicht mehr sagen muss als “herrliches Frühstück mit Blick über die Perle des Comer Sees”.

The healthy and rich breakfast gave us enough strength for our first biking trip around the mountains. We rented the bikes at the bike shop in the hotel. Luca and his fiancé provided us with e-bike so that we are able to reach Madonna del Ghisallo, which had a gigantic view above the lake, and you can also find a museum with old pictures from Giro Italia and a pretty chapel there. On our way up, we also had a break at two other viewpoints to enjoy the charme of Lake Como. I am sure that you’ll find a route that suits you on the 160km around the lake. Our route was only 7,5 km long for each way.

Das gesunde und reichhaltige Frühstück gibt uns genug Kraft für unsere erste Radtour rund um die Berge. Wir mieten die Fahrräder im Fahrradladen im Hotel. Luca und seine Verlobte versorgen uns mit einem E-Bike, so dass wir ganz leicht Madonna del Ghisallo erreichen können, wo man nicht nur einen gigantischen Blick über den See hat, sondern auch ein Museum mit alten Bildern aus Giro Italia und einer hübschen Kapelle. Auf unserem Weg nach oben machen wir auch eine Pause an zwei anderen Aussichtspunkten, um den Charme des Comer Sees zu genießen. Ich bin sicher, dass ihr eine Route findet, die zu euch passt auf den 160 km um den See. Unser Weg war nur 7,5 km lang für jeden Weg.

In the afternoon, we decided to go for a swim at Lake Como. Due to the fact that many parts of the lake are private, it is not so easy to find a place for swimming, but in San Giovanni, we found a really nice spot with a cool “beach bar”.

Am Nachmittag beschließen wir, am Comer See zu schwimmen. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass viele Teile des Sees privat sind, ist es nicht so einfach, einen Platz zum Schwimmen zu finden, aber in San Giovanni finden wir einen wirklich schönen Ort mit einer coolen “Strandbar”.

Just a few walking minutes away from our top secret spot, we decided to have dinner at ristorante Mella. If you have not heard of the restaurant before, it is hard to find. The tasty fresh lake fish is caught by the chef himself. The quiet area and the harbor in front of the restaurant are lovely during the evening. When you’re at the rustic restaurant, you feel like being an Italian. All delivered food looks really well. Just be careful what you order if you do not like whole skinned fish.

Nur wenige Gehminuten von unserem geheimen Spot entfernt, beschließen wir, im Ristorante Mella zu Abend zu essen. Wenn du noch nicht von dem Restaurant gehört hast, ist es schwer zu finden. Der leckere frische Seefisch wird vom Koch selbst gefangen. Die ruhige Lage und der Hafen vor dem Restaurant sind während des Abends schön. Im rustikalen Restaurant fühlt ihr euch wie ein echter Italiener. Das ausgelieferte Essen sieht sehr gut aus.

After all the food and drinks, we think that a bit watersports would not be too bad. Furthermore, I want to discover Lake Como from a different perspective and I actually did! Michele, the owner of Bellagio Water Sports, looks like a real and very cool Italian! He does not only look like a cool guy, he truly is one! We had so much fun during our two hour trip along the coast of the lake that the time passed too quickly. We chose to use a SUP for the tour, but the others took a kayak, which is more relaxing and comfortable. Michele showed us parts of the lake, which you cannot see if you are not on the water. Honestly, if you are in Bellagio, do not miss one of Michele’s tours!

Nach all den Speisen und Getränken denken wir, dass ein bisschen Wassersport nicht so schlecht wäre. Außerdem möchte ich den Comer See aus einer anderen Perspektive entdecken und das habe ich auch gemacht! Michele, der Besitzer von Bellagio Water Sports, sieht aus wie ein echter und sehr cooler Italiener! Er sieht nicht nur wie ein cooler Kerl aus, er ist wirklich einer! Wir haben so viel Spaß während unserer zwei Stunden Fahrt entlang der Küste des Sees, dass die Zeit zu schnell verging. Wir haben uns entschlossen, eine SUP für die Tour zu benutzen, aber die anderen nehmen ein Kajak, was entspannender und gemütlicher ist. Michele zeigt alle Teile des Sees, die man nicht sehen kann, wenn man nicht auf dem Wasser ist. Ehrlich gesagt, wenn ihr in Bellagio seid, verpasst nicht eine von Micheles Touren!

Having burned so many calories, I definitely deserve the next stop in Belaggio: Ristorante Salice Blue. Luigi, the chef of the restaurant, absolutely deserves all the medals, awards, and trophies he has already won in the international cooking competitions. Every course has its own note and looks so perfect and delicate. The exquisite dishes spoil your palate for sure!

Nachdem ich so viele Kalorien verbrannt habe, verdiene ich definitiv den nächsten Halt in Belaggio: Ristorante Salice Blue. Luigi, der Küchenchef des Restaurants, verdient absolut alle Medaillen, Auszeichnungen und Trophäen, die er bereits in internationalen Kochwettbewerben gewonnen hat. Jeder Gang hat seine eigene Note und sieht so perfekt und lecker aus. Die exquisiten Gerichte verwöhnen euren Gaumen mit Sicherheit!

During the afternoon, we spent our time in the enjoyable city center of Bellago. We walked through the small alleys and enjoyed all the little Italian shops. You also find loads of delicious ice cream in the city center.

Während des Nachmittags verbringen wir unsere Zeit in der angenehmen Innenstadt von Bellagio. Wir gehen durch die kleinen Gassen und genießen alle kleinen italienischen Läden. Ihr findet auch viele leckere Eisdielen in der Innenstadt.

Subsequently, our day couldn’t have had a better Italian ending than having a romantic dinner (pizza and wine) at the garden of our lovely hotel.

Anschließend konnte unser Tag kein besseres italienisches Ende haben als ein romantisches Abendessen (Pizza und Wein) im Garten unseres schönen Hotels.

I did not know that Lake Constance is such a beautiful place. The many old buildings in this area are lovely and charming. I visited Lake Constance last weekend and took a flight from Cologne to Zurich. From Zürich airport, I took the train to Jucker’s restaurant hotel which took 45 minutes. I had reserved a room before the flight through their website. The hotel is just perfect!

Ich wusste nicht, dass der Bodensee so ein schöner Ort ist. Die vielen alten Gebäude sind wunderschön und charmant. Letztes Wochenende besuchte ich das Hotel der Familie Jucker am Bodensee und flog von Köln nach Zürich. Vom Flughafen Zürich, nahm ich den Zug zum Jucker’s Restaurant Hotel. Die Fahrt dauerte ca. 45 Minuten. Das Zimmer hatte ich schon vor der Abreise auf der Website gebucht! Das Hotel ist einfach perfekt und sehr stylisch!

There are 15 natural lifestyle rooms which are designed with natural materials which makes one feel good and at peace. The large windows provide plenty of light. Also, the rooms are clean and spacious. I must not forget to mention the welcome chocolate in the serene environment.

Es gibt 15 natürliche Lifestyle-Räume, die mit natürlichen Materialien entworfen sind. Man fühlt sich direkt sehr wohl und entspannt. Auch die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig. Ich darf die leckere Willkommensschokolade nicht vergessen!

The spa area filled with Finnish sauna and the Jacuzzi hotspot provide precious recreation. Furthermore, the cozy GinChil offers an open selection of wines, fresh beers, and fine spirits. For those who like tours and picnics, Jucker provides them with bicycles, a picnic basket or a Vespa. I enjoy cycling and therefore I decided to take a bike for the trip.

Der Wellnessbereich mit finnischer Sauna und der Jacuzzi-Hotspot sorgen für kostbare Erholung. Darüber hinaus bietet das gemütliche GinChil eine große Auswahl an Weinen, frischen Bieren und feinen Spirituosen. Für diejenigen, die Touren und Picknicks mögen, bietet Jucker Fahrräder, einen Picknickkorb oder eine Vespa an. Ich genieße das Radfahren gerne und deshalb hatte ich beschlossen, ein Fahrrad für diese Reise zu nehmen.

After the pleasant breakfast buffet, I went to the Konstanz village which is only 10 minutes away by bike.

The tranquillity and beauty of this old village in the warm morning made me feel fantastic and at peace with nature. In this ancient village you find everything you need and the good thing is that it’s close to the lake and the port.

Nach dem reichhaltigen Frühstücksbuffet bin ich in das Dorf Konstanz gefahren, welches nur 10 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad entfernt ist. Die Ruhe und Schönheit dieses alten Dorfes an einem warmen Morgen ließ mich fantastisch fühlen und ich konnte die Natur friedlich erleben. In dieser atemberaubenden Stadt findet ihr alles, was ihr braucht und die gute Sache ist, dass es direkt am See und dem Hafen liegt.

While in this old city, you have to visit Pano café. Pano stands for bread in Esperanto. I had a delicious chocolate cake.

Während ihr in dieser historischen Stadt seid, müsst ihr das Pano Café besuchen. Pano steht für Brot in Esperanto. Außerdem hatte ich einen Schokoladenkuchen.

You definitely have to try Jucker’s restaurant! I had a salad as starter, whcih was very fresh and tasty! The main course was one of the best I have had. The meat was so tender and juicy! The vegetables with it were very good, too. The white chocolate mousse was very good as well.

Du musst das Restaurant des Hotels Jucker ausprobieren! Ich hatte einen Salat als Vorspeise, der sehr frisch und lecker war. Das Hauptgericht war eines der besten, das ich je gegessen hatte. Das Fleisch war so zart und saftig und auch das Gemüse war sehr lecker. Abschließend gab es ein köstliches, weißes Schokoladenmousse – ideal für die Naschkatzen unter uns.

On Sunday, I visited Arenenberg and had a picnic at its garden. “Schloß Arenenberg” is rather a manor house than a castle, overlooking Lake Constance. You will love the calm garden and the stunning view at the lake.

Am Sonntag besuchte ich Arenenberg und konnte ein Picknick im Garten genießen. “Schloß Arenenberg” ist eher ein Herrenhaus als ein Schloss, mit herrlichem Blick auf den Bodensee. Ihr werdet den ruhigen Garten und die atemberaubende Aussicht auf den See lieben.

I finished my scouting by visiting the village of Gottlieben. The village is small yet fascinating and provides a wonderful jogging route. On my way back I visited Zürich for 2 hours and had a drink at the stylish Hiltl restaurant. Ich beendete meine Wochenendreise, indem ich dem Dorf Gottlieben einen Besuch abstattete. Das Dorf ist klein und doch faszinierend und bietet eine wunderbare Joggingroute.
