Anyone who has been following my Instagram story last week must have certainly noticed that I had stayed in a hotel in Cologne for the first time. Why is this so unusual? I do not live far away from the most beautiful city on the Rhine, however, this time I had been offered to stay in Cologne and could visit the Britney Spears’ concert in Mönchengladbach. By the way, so far, I have not missed any concert of hers in Germany. But more on that later.
Wer meine InstaStory letzte Woche verfolgt hat, hat bestimmt mitbekommen, dass ich zum ersten Mal in Köln in einem Hotel übernachtet habe. Was daran so untypisch ist? Ich wohne nicht weit weg von der schönsten Stadt am Rhein! Jedoch hat es sich dieses Mal angeboten in Köln zu übernachten, da wir das Britney Spears Konzert in Mönchen Gladbach besucht haben. BTW (by the way) bisher habe ich kein Deutschlandkonzert von ihr verpasst! Aber dazu später mehr.
Where did I stay?
Let’s get to the details of the coolest accommodation. My first stay with a 25hours hotel was in Munich this year in May when I visited the About You Awards. By that time, I was already blown away by the individuality, the fancy interior, and their friendly and pleasant service. Finally, a hotel that keeps up with the time!
These points fit like a glove on the “spacious” concept regarding Cologne. No trace of the old “Gerling building” or, an office building. When entering the spacious entrance area, you will be immediately entranced by its exquisiteness. If that’s not the case with you, wait until you get into the elevator!
It drives you straight to your stylish and fully equipped room. At 25hours, you think outside the box. The general stuff, such as TV, minibar, etc. are of course available. In addition, you have a music box for musical entertainment, a cuddly toy for a relaxing night, a jute bag for the shopping trip the next day and much more. I am always impressed by the open design of their rooms.
My absolute favorite at the 25hours Hotel – The Circle is, of course, the Monkey Bar and Restaurant “NENI”. You can correct me if I’m wrong, in my comments but Cologne has never had such a cool rooftop location with super delicious cocktails so far. At the opening ceremony, a part of the Molcho family, which is behind the Persian, Russian, Arabic and Germanic influences in the kitchen, was also on site. My evening at “NENI” reminded me of one of my evenings in Tel Aviv: uncomplicated, relaxed, delicious, like home yet away from home.
Kommen wir erstmal zur mega coolen Unterkunft! Meine erste Begegnung mit einem 25hours Hotel hatte ich dieses Jahr im Mai in München, als ich den AboutYou Award besucht habe. Damals war ich schon hin und weg von der Individualität, dem ausgefallenem Interior und dem legeren angenehmen Service. Endlich mal ein Hotel, das mit der Zeit geht!
Diese Punkte passen auch wie die Faust aufs Auge auf das „spacige“ Kölner Konzept. Keine Spur mehr vom alten Berlin Quartier oder einem Bürogebäude. Beim Eintreten in den großzügigen Eingangsbereich hebt man sofort ab! Sollte das bei euch nicht der Fall sein, wartet ab, bis ihr in den Aufzug gestiegen seid!
Er fährt euch direkt zu eurem stylischen und voll ausgestattetem Zimmer. Bei 25hours denkt man nämlich über den Tellerrand hinaus! Die allgemeinen Schnickschnacks, wie Fernseher, Minibar etc. sind natürlich vorhanden! Darüber hinaus habt ihr aber noch eine Musikbox für die musikalische Unterhaltung, ein Kuscheltier für die entspannte Nacht, einen Jutebeutel für den Shoppingtrip am nächsten Tag und vieles mehr! Mich beeindruckt jedes Mal die offene Gestaltung in den Zimmern!
Mein absoluter Favorit im 25hours Hotel – The Circle ist natürlich die Monkey Bar und das Restaurant „Neni“. Ihr könnt mich gerne in meinen Kommentaren korrigieren falls ich falsch liege, aber Köln hatte bisher nicht annähernd so eine coole Rooftop Location mit super leckeren Cocktails. Bei der Eröffnungsfeier war ein Teil der Familie Molcho, die hinter den persischen, russischen, arabischen bis hin zu deutschen Einflüssen in der Küche steckt, auch vor Ort. Mich hat unser Abend im „NENI“ an einen meiner Abende in Tel Aviv erinnert: unkompliziert, entspannt, lecker, wie bei Freunden Zuhause!
The concert
Well strengthened we went for probably the last concert of Britney Spears in Germany. Had the concert been in the Kölnarena we would have been able to walk there super easily or ride one of the bicycles provided by the hotel. If you rent a bike from the hotel, you definitely have one of the coolest bikes in Cologne. But since we had to go to Mönchengladbach, we had the luxury of being able to drive a Mini Cooper S provided by the hotel. But not only were we able to drive with it, every guest can borrow a mini from the hotel for free! As mentioned above, I have visited all Britney‘s concerts over the years in Cologne and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, they get worse every time. This time I just wished she had worn a little bit more clothes. Nevertheless, I take the hat off to her that she still delivers a very strong performance and I will continue to be a fan.
Gut gestärkt ging es für uns auf das wahrscheinlich letzte Konzert von Britney Spears in Deutschland. Wäre das Konzert in der Kölnarena gewesen, hätten wir super easy zu Fuß gehen können oder mit einem der vom Hotel bereit gestellten Fahrräder fahren können. Solltet ihr euch ein Fahrrad vom Hotel leihen, habt ihr auf jeden Fall eins der coolsten Fahrräder in ganz Köln! Da wir aber nach Mönchen Gladbach mussten, hatten wir den Luxus, dass wir mit einem Mini Cooper S vom Hotel aus fahren konnten. Aber nicht nur wir konnten damit fahren, sondern jeder Gast kann sich kostenfrei einen Mini vom Hotel ausleihen. Wie bereits erwähnt habe ich all ihre Konzerte über die Jahre in Köln und Umgebung besucht. Leider wurden sie jedes Mal schlechter. Dieses Mal hätte ich mir einfach gewünscht, dass sie sich ein bisschen mehr angezogen hätte. Trotzdem ziehe ich den Hut vor ihr, dass sie immer noch eine ganz starke Performance liefert und bleibe auch weiterhin ein FAN!
The morning after…
Whether you are a hotel guest or not you must experience their breakfast. At the weekend you can even enjoy it until 11 o’clock. Again, the different influences can be seen at the buffet. Actually, I don’t want to tell you too much about the breakfast buffet. Just look at my picture and you will want to try it out!
I can only say, although I was not “home”, I felt at home.
Egal ob ihr Hotelgast seid oder nicht: Dieses Frühstück müsst ihr erlebt haben! Am Wochenende könnt ihr es sogar bis 11 Uhr genießen! Auch hier sind am Buffet wieder die unterschiedlichen Einflüsse zu erkennen! Eigentlich möchte ich euch über das Frühstücksbuffet nicht zu viel verraten! Schaut euch einfach mein Bild an und probiert es aus!
Ich kann nur sagen, obwohl ich nicht „Zuhause“ war, habe ich mich wie Zuhause gefühlt!
