Wellness- & Genusshotel Der Eisvogel – Lifestyle meets tradition

In the beautiful Hallertau region, only 50 minutes from Munich, the tradition of Bavaria and a modern lifestyle concept meet at the Wellness- & Genusshotel Der Eisvogel. Combining the two allows guests of the hotel to experience a new dimension of relaxation.
Pleasure, health, cosiness, leisureliness, balance as well as busyness – these are the pillars on which the hotel concept is based and ensures a feel-good atmosphere.
The hotel is equally suitable for a short break from stressful everyday life as for a longer holiday. The cordiality of the hosts rounds off the travel experience, leaving no wishes unfulfilled for the guests.

Dreamlike living at Wellness- & Genusshotel Der Eisvogel

Warm colours, exclusive fabrics, spacious rooms flooded with light and attention to detail in the furnishings create a pleasant atmosphere from the very first second. Picking up on the colours of Bavarian nature, the rooms are traditional as well as modern and thus fit perfectly into the hotel concept. Guests are offered plenty of space to feel at home in the rooms, which are decorated in berry tones, soft natural colours or the colouring of kingfisher feathers. Arriving and feeling good has top priority here – that’s how a holiday should be.
Good days begin with a good breakfast – complemented by cordial service, an extensive selection of dishes, many regional products as well as homemade delicacies. There is no better way to start a holiday day.

Wellness and pleasure for all the senses

Those who want to do something good for their well-being have the opportunity to do so in the 1,600 square metre spa area. Here, guests can unwind or let themselves be pampered by the numerous treatments offered by qualified masseurs. Relaxation rooms invite you to unwind, while the spa suites are ideal for couples to take time out. Various saunas and the bathhouse strengthen the body so that guests can fall into their pillows refreshed in the evening. Feel good, lean back and enjoy the time out – at Hotel “Der Eisvogel” every guest will find what they need to relax.

Let your soul dangle in the Wellness- & Genusshotel Der Eisvogel.

Not only the indoor, but also the outdoor area as well as the surroundings of the hotel decelerate the guests. The beautiful park invites you to go for a walk, have a nice chat or read a book. Those who want to explore the region can choose between city programmes, relaxation in nature or sporting activities. The Hallertau is not far from Regensburg, Munich, Landshut and Ingolstadt, so spontaneous excursions are always possible. The region is equally suitable for cycling or hiking tours. In the summer months, the hotel rents out e-bikes and a golf course is also part of the hotel property – guests will look in vain for boredom.
Other excursion destinations in the area include the German Hop Museum, the Abusina Roman Fort and boat trips on the Danube and in the Altmühl Valley.
Whatever the hotel guests feel like, at the Wellness- & Genusshotel Der Eisvogel they can create and enjoy their individual perfect time-out at will.

Restaurant BUONO

Buоnо іѕ a сlаѕѕу Itаlіаn restaurant оn the 29th and 30th floor of the Radisson Rоуаl Hоtеl (which used to be саllеd Hоtеl ‘Ukrаіnе’) with a cozy atmosphere, delicious fооd, friendly staff, аnd оbvіоuѕlу a grеаt view оf Moscow. Cаlm аnd thought through іntеrіоr dеѕіgn оf Buоnо сrеаtеѕ a rеlаxеd аmbіеnсе whеrе I fеlt аt еаѕе.

Buono Moscow restaurant

Overall, I muѕt ѕау, I did еnjоу my vіѕіt tо Buоnо, and I wоuld rесоmmеnd іt. I wоuld rеturn thеrе fоr аnоthеr cocktail ѕоmеdау and for the view!

This is an amazing 24hours breakfast spot. Hеаd tо Café Puѕhkіn on thе Bulvаr, nоt fаr, ѕtrаngеlу еnоugh, from Pushkin Sԛuаrе. (Take the purple lіnе to Pushkinskaya Ploshchad.) Thе саfé, whісh іѕ really a fіvе-ѕtаr restaurant, іѕ ореn 24 hоurѕ a dау аnd іѕ ѕіtuаtеd in a building thаt was rеnоvаtеd tо lооk exactly like a Russian aristocrat’s hоmе сіrса 1825. Thе ѕtаff speaks a beautiful, рrе-Sоvіеtіzеd Ruѕѕіаn (аnd Englіѕh) аnd serves ѕоmе of the bеѕt fare in tоwn. You’ll want to gеt thе blіnсhіkі (Russian раnсаkеѕ) with blасk caviar, bоrѕсht аnd pelmeni (dumplings), before mоvіng on to the fаmоuѕ Tѕаr’ѕ Sturgeon and, оf соurѕе, оnе оf Puѕhkіn’ѕ many, many desserts. Mаkе sure your mеаl includes a spot or twо оr thrее of vоdkа. (Ruѕkіу Stаndаrt ѕhоuld do, оr аѕk thе wаіtеr for a rесоmmеndаtіоn.) Thеу treat уоu lіkе you’re a mеmbеr оf the lаndеd gеntrу hеrе, аnd thаt’ѕ bесаuѕе Pushkin іѕ оnе оf only a fеw dоzеn rеѕtаurаntѕ in Moscow that rеаllу undеrѕtаndѕ service.

Cafe Pushkin Moscow restaurant

White Rаbbіt

White Rabbit was also оn my list to vіѕіt іn Mоѕсоw. I rеаllу lіkе their оrіgіnаl іntеrіоr design аnd ѕtуlе, аnd Tripadvisor аlѕо rесоmmеndеd іt fоr gооd fооd. Huge wіndоwѕ аnd restaurant’s lосаtіоn on thе 16th floor оf a retail center Smolensky passazh will gіvе уоu a fаntаѕtіс орроrtunіtу tо оbѕеrvе the сіtу. They ѕау White Rаbbіt іѕ оnе of the Mоѕсоw’ѕ beloved eating оut vеnuеѕ fоr Ruѕѕіаn рор stars, businessmen, and оthеr rісh аnd fаmоuѕ реорlе in thіѕ country. Thе rеѕtаurаnt аlѕо оftеn рlауѕ a host tо vаrіоuѕ concerts аnd gіgѕ. Sо… great аtmоѕрhеrе, gourmet kitchen and pleasing dеѕіgn ѕhоuldn’t lеаvе уоu unѕаtіѕfіеd.

Mоѕсоw hаѕ ԛuіtе a fеw fancy rеѕtаurаntѕ with a grеаt view on оffеr. Sо if your pocket аllоwѕ іt, why nоt splash out on a nісе dіnnеr іn a ѕtуlіѕh venue with a bіrd’ѕ eye view of thе city?

Moskau hat also einige schicke Restaurants mit einem atemberaubenden Blick zu bieten! Wenn der Geldbeutel es momentan zulässt, besucht auf jeden Fall eines der Restaurants.

5 Reasons why you should visit this place!

Madonna Di Campiglio, Dolomites, Italy, Skiing, Hotel Miramonti, Fasten Ur Seatbelts

You have no idea where to spent your next winter holiday? Then this is the perfect place for your next winter trip! It doesn’t matter if you are a pro on skis or if you don’t even know how to put them on. Hotel Miramonti in Madonna Di Campiglio is the ultimate winter getaway for everyone who wants to be active, enjoy, party or relax.

  • Rooms that you never want to leave

Madonna Di Campiglio, Dolomites, Italy, Skiing, Hotel Miramonti, Fasten Ur Seatbelts

Honestly, I don’t know which part of the room I should start with! My room was not only modern and very clean but also enormous! It is the optimal size to live in. I loved the interior design and the bright colours.

The spacious dressing room forced me to unpack my suitcases. Normally, I never unpack my suitcases because I have to leave after a few days anyways, and I am too lazy, but this time I could not resist ;-).

The toilet is separated from the bathroom, which is ideal for young couples or those who prefer to have more privacy. The bench in the shower is tempting to shower longer than needed. After a hot shower, you lay down in your large and comfortable bed.

While your boyfriend, brother, friend or husband waits on the cozy sofa, you get ready at your make-up table. In the unlikely event that you get bored, sit on the balcony and watch the people on the street or the ski slopes. Right behind the hotel, you will see the World Cup Slalom ski slope.

  • Ski slopes for all levels

Hotel Miramonti is located in the middle of all ski slopes in Madonna di Campiglio. You will not need a car to get to any ski slope.

Additionally, all ski slopes are connected with each other, which means that you have thousands of blue, red and black options each day. Read more about my ski route tips in my next article. Just two minutes walking distance from the hotel, you will find a ski and snowboard rental called “rent and go”.

  • Daily relaxation for body and mind

After my days on the ski runs, I would either go shopping, or relax in Hotel Miramonti’s sauna or massage chair. Madonna Di Campiglio offers several shops with clothes, gourmet food and furniture made of wood. Next to the hotel, you will find Barbara’s sport outlet, which has stylish designer clothes for an affordable price. If you need a souvenir, visit the gourmet shop and have a look at the selection of bacon, cheese, snaps, tea and chocolate.

  • Culinary delight, which deserves a star

Not only is the service at Hotel Miramonti excellent, but the food is delicious. In the morning, you have an extensive breakfast buffet with a wide variety of sweet and savoury specialities. Don’t forget to try an omelette! The breakfast prepares you for a great start into the day!

After a long day, you will enjoy the 4-course-menu. For the main course, I always recommend to take the fish because it was even more delicious than the meat. However, there was no course, which I did not like, but look at the images by yourself. Sometimes pictures say more than a thousand words.

  • Unbeatable value

Thanks to activitybreaks.com I booked a really good offer. A 7-night package costs 954€ per person during the Christmas time and includes:

  • 7 nights in classic double room in 4* Hotel Miramonti
  • Half board basis
  • 6 day ski pass
  • 6 day ski equipment hire
  • 1x25min massage
  • Use of hotel sauna & gym

This is an unbeatable value for money in this area! If you do not want drive to Madonna Di Campiglio, you can fly to Bergamo or Verona for example. A flight from Cologne to Bergamo costs around 10€ (without luggage) and the airport bus to the skiing area costs 35€ per person/one-way. The bus ride from Bergamo takes about four hours. The airport Verona is a bit closer than Bergamo.

The ultimate place for the Golden Circle tour in Iceland

Riding Tours South Iceland, Riding, Horse Riding, Icelandic Horse

The first question I asked myself when I heard about the Golden Circle: “what is the Golden Circle?” Well, just about some of the most amazing sights in Iceland! You can either book a Golden Circle Tour from Reykjavik (there are loads of operators), or rent a car and drive the route by yourself, which is much more convenient, because you are able to stop at the countless stopping points along the route.

Car Rental, Route 1, Route 1 Car Rental, Iceland, Car

Here are the most important stops:

  • Strokkur Geyser

The fountain is located in the southwest part of the country. The entrance is for free, similar to all the natural attractions in Iceland. In front of the geyser, it took only about 4 minutes and I saw the first eruption. Then I had to wait another 7 minutes for the next eruption, which was directly followed by a small one. Its height was about 15 – 20 m but it can also be higher. You don’t have to worry that you will not see the eruption. It is one of the most reliable geysers I have ever seen. Be careful, the water is really hot.

  • Gullfoss Waterfall

One of the most impressive waterfalls I have ever seen and it is just a 10-minute drive from Geysir. The waterfall is so big! Even though some sections were covered in ice, it was an amazing sight. The stairs are quite slippery at the moment. The view is great from both platforms. Sometimes the lower part is closed due to weather conditions. On your way back you can buy some accessorises in the gift shop.

  • Thingvellir National Park

Personally, I could not make it to the UNESCO World Heritage but I have heard that it is wonderful and that you can see lakes, waterfalls and pure nature. Furthermore, it belongs to the Golden Circle tour.

Ultimate Place for the Golden Circle tour

Guesthouse Fludir is just 25 minutes away from the attractions mentioned above and 1 hour drive away from Reykjavik. The peaceful and beautiful environment will let you relax from your everyday life. I loved the river, which I could see from my balcony every day. My room was spacious and very clean. Especially the bathroom was excellent.

The freshly made breakfast was exceptional. During my seven-day stay in Iceland, it was the first time that I got a self-made smoothie and fruits. In addition, the breakfast included a variety of cheese, ham and hearing. Dinner can be taken, too, at the restaurant. The running people are very nice and helpful.

What to do in Fludir?

Riding Tours South Iceland, Riding, Horse Riding, Icelandic Horse

The secret lagoon is just 10minutes away. I have been horse riding at Riding Tours South Iceland. It has been the best experience during my whole trip. The staff was more than kind, so warm and friendly. The horses seemed so happy and healthy. I had the feeling that they all gave me a warm welcome. Marcus, who was my tour guide, was super friendly and always looked after to me, to make sure I was ok. The scenery during the riding tour was unbelievable. I always wanted to ride through the snow. I felt really safe on the horse and even it was cold outside, I was not freezing due to the ski suit. If you want to have an amazing experience, have a tour at Riding Tours South Iceland.

How to crash your car in Iceland? Be aware of these 5 signs!

Car Rental, Route 1, Route 1 Car Rental, Iceland, Car

Actually, Iceland has only one main route… Route 1! The ring road goes around the whole island and is about 1330 km long. It is hard to get lost because this road connects all the villages on the island. Additionally, major attractions are by the route 1 such as Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Even though it is difficult to get lost, you have to be carefully if you drive in Iceland for your first time. Luckily, Íris from Route 1 Car Rental informed me about the roads in Iceland. Of course, you cannot remember everything what you are told not to do (at least I can’t) and you have to experience the roads by yourself.

Car Rental, Route 1, Route 1 Car Rental, Iceland, Car

If it is your first time in Iceland, I would recommend to rent a car like my Suzuki Jimny, which I got from Route 1 Car Rental. Why I recommend you a 4×4 for your first time? Well, if you are not used to the “off roads” and the signs, a small SUV will save your life! So it is worth it to pay around 86€ for a day! The pick up in Reykjavik is for free and it costs 18€ at the airport, which is still much cheaper than the fee of their compeitiors.

Be aware of the following signs:

  • Single lane bridge – Only one car can cross the bridge.
  • Gravel road – Honestly, if you are not used to it, drive especially slowly. Your tires can lose grip if you are too fast.
  • Pavement changes to gravel – A gravel road is coming up. Same rules as mentioned above.
  • Danger of sudden icy conditions – As it can be really cold in Iceland, icy really means icy!
  • Blind crest – I did not like this sign. It means that you cannot see what is coming! Keep on the right side of your road.

Don’t forget that all off-road driving is illegal! During the wintertime, roads can be very icy. Reduce speed if you are not used to this. Don’t just stop on the road for a picture. There are almost every place  for taking a picture. Check conditions before you start your trip because I did not and ended up in front of a road, which is closed during wintertime. It took me 40 minutes more to get to my destination. Call 112 for an emergency. And always remember to Fasten Ur Seatbelts!

Activity Breaks at Manerba del Garda #ActivityBreaks.com

Manerba del Garda

During my time at Manerba del Garda, I was happy to be part of ActivityBreaks tours. ActivityBreaks offers several leisure activities at Manerba del Garda, which is located on southwestern shore of Lake Garda. The area is perfect for cycling or hiking. If you are interested in hiking, you can hike to Rocca di Manerba del Garda and visit its museum. The entry is for free. It is the perfect place for a short sit-down and buying a drink or snack. ActivityBreaks cycling tour is a perfect opportunity to explore the area and the mountains by bike.

The tour, which includes cannoning, stand up paddle-boarding and cycling, is for those who really need to feel the adrenalin.

Manerba del Garda

Are you not really interested in activities and prefer a relaxing vacation? In that case enjoy Manerba’s wine cellars and discover the lake by boat.

Another great way to get to know lake Garda is by hiring a boat for two days and spending the days on the water.

Manerba del Garda

All tours offered by ActivityBreaks include a stay at the lovely La Quiete Park hotel, which is only 50m away from the lake. Read more about it in my last article!

La Quiete Park Hotel Manerba

Limone sul Garda is only 40 minutes away from Manerba de Garda. The 40 minutes will fly by so fast because of the beautiful drive. Limone sul Garda is famous for growing lemons and other citrus fruits.

A bit further in the opposite direction, you will find Sirmione. It is one of the most famous places around lake Garda.
