Best Halloween Destination in Europe

Brasov, Romania, Bucharest, Fasten Ur Seatbelts

ENG

After my last trip to Europe, I cannot agree with the statement that Halloween is not celebrated there, as intensely as in the US. Even at any carnival, that I have ever been to, I have not seen such extravagant, scary-eyed make-ups and costumes as in the mysterious Bran Castle in Transylvania. With about a thousand Halloween fans from all over the world, we made the Dracula’s Castle the spookiest, and the scariest at G Adventures exclusive party. A seven-day Halloween in Transylvania trip is priced from €1,199pp traveling from Bucharest return. At odds with its creeptacular reputation, Romania ranks as one of Europe’s most charming and underexplored regions, beguiling visitors with its stunning Gothic architecture, enveloping forests, and friendly people. Before the party

We had decided to arrive one day earlier than the party to explore the Romanian capital of Bucharest. In Bucharest, also known as Little Paris, you will not find any typical tourists carrying selfie sticks or even tourist buses. Also, souvenir shops are rare here. On the spot, you will see a mix of classic, modern and dilapidated buildings. The capital is ideal for exploring on foot, if that’s not possible then I recommend you taking an UBER. The places and things that are an absolute must Bucharest are:

– The old town

– The book series: Carturesti Carusel

– The restaurant: Caru ‘cu Bere

– Trying a local wine

– Nightlife

The party day

All the late risers should watch out as at 9 o’clock the bus leaves for Brasov. The 3 ½ hour drive to the center of Romania passes by in a flash. As soon as we arrived in the Transylvanian city of Brasov, we already wanted to explore the colorful houses, many bars, and restaurants. But that day we had a date with the Dracula and only enough time to dress up for the legendary party.

The exclusive Halloween Party takes place at the Dracula’s home. The Bran Castle with its hidden tunnels, mysterious corridors and rooms is the perfect location for a scary party. In some rooms, you will find a bar or a tasty buffet. But at the end, it will also pull you on the dance floor with the song “Thriller” playing till the sun goes up again.

The day after the party

Don’t worry you will have enough time to recover. However, those who are up early can visit the beautiful cafés in Brasov or enjoy Brasov from above, and head up the mountain, Tampa. On the way to Tampa Mountain, you will also pass the Gothic Church, Black Church, and the third smallest street in Europe. It was great fun to be part of the group tour during our last day! The guides are great fun and tell you interesting stories about the cities!

Anyone who has recovered their strength after the visit to the Dracula’s Castle will find plenty of bars open in the evening for the next party. Celebrate the successful trip, in this way with your group before going home the next day.

DEU

Before the party

  • Nightlife

The party day

The day after the party

Keine Sorge!

Halloween Europe Dublin

Are you still looking for a travel destination for Halloween? Halloween isn’t celebrated everywhere in Europe; therefore, choose your destination wisely.  The 31st of October isn’t particularily well-known in Europe as it is in the United States. If you want to join a ghost tour, a Halloween party, or even see a Halloween parade, travel to Ireland or Great Britain. The world’s second commercial holiday offers a great opportunity to get to know other cultures and traditions.

Dublin, Ireland

Don’t miss the Halloween parade at 7pm! It is similar to a carnival parade and a great place to start your night. The parade is not just for adults, but also for children. Before you enter the nightlife in the Temple Bar area, join a Ghostbus tour and be transported into Dublin’s scary history for two hours long.  Did you know that the author of Dracula lived in Dublin? You don’t have to search for a pub late at night as the Temple Bar area is full of them. Halloween Europe DublinThe well-known night club, Lillie’s Bordello, has a great Halloween Party.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Halloween Europe Edinburgh To get into the right mood, be part of Edinburgh’s dark side haunted walking tour, to explore the mysteries, murder and legends of Edinburgh. Isn’t a castle the right place for Halloween? Visit Edinburgh Castle to feel the spooky atmosphere. Experience Scottish Whiskey during the night at the Scotch Whiskey Experience.  Another great place for whiskey, beers and burgers is the Holdyrood 9A. Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance; this restaurant is always packed.

London, England

Halloween Europe LondonThe creepiest locations in London are the Greenwhich Foot Tunnel, Hunterian Musuem or the pub, Old Queen’s Head. Of course, you can do a Ghostbus tour or a Halloween walking tour, similar to Edinburgh and Dublin, but you could also visit a sinister stately.
